I am addicted to seeing a lot of colors in one place. Art fairs are a sort of junkie fix for me, so I grab every chance at going to one. Here, the colors are so abundant that they begin to have taste; gradients become levels of saltiness and sweetness. In a way, it becomes increasingly difficult to verbalize to myself these works of art: taste has far fewer adjectives in English than color. I am not an art critic, so I compensate by describing a painting as tasting "bright, with an almost overpowering taste of marschino cherries with apple-flavored gummi bear filling," or, with a "custardy taste, but with a crushed concrete-like texture." Yum.
Art in the Park is held one day, every year, here at Makati by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines Inc. and Philippine Art Events Inc. Various individuals, galleries, art schools and organizations are invited to exhibit and sell their works**, with the premise that prices each should not exceed USD 850. It's their way of bringing affordable art to all.
